Children's Play Park

The Lon Isallt Children's Play Park in Trearddur Bay is a free outdoor play area located directly opposite the RNLI Lifeboat Station.

The park is maintained by Trearddur Community Council but unfortunately the prolonged uncertainty regarding the lease meant that very little has been spent on the park in recent years. This is about to change as the Council acquired the lease on the Lon Isallt Recreation Ground and Play Park in March 2025 and intend making some improvements to the site.

Planned improvements: Stage 1

It was decided that priority would be given to improving the access and upgrading the safety surfaces, the site is frequently flooded and the sandy surface quickly becomes eroded. Fortunately, the Council was successful in gaining financial assistance from the Play Space Improvement Fund and work was due to commence in Autumn 2025. As always grant applications come with deadlines and ours was 31 January 2026.

ThePlanned improvements: Stage 1 extreme weather conditions seriously hindered the project, some contractors were no longer available and it was several months before new contractors were able to attend. The administrators of the Play Space Improvement Fund very kindly extended our deadline and we were pleased to confirm that the stage 1 work was completed within the extended time scale..

Footpaths

We have a number of public footpaths in the area for those who want to explore the countryside but one of the main attractions for walkers is the Anglesey Coastal Path.

Sections 11 and 12 of the path from Rhoscolyn to Trearddur Bay and Trearddur Bay to South Stack and beyond are particularly beautiful.

The northern part of the district is also classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the RSPB Reserve here is extremely popular.
